I’ve always have been interested in different qualities of touch, and how touch can bring about initiating the healing response. Initially I trained and qualified as a Swedish Holistic therapist in 1992 and have worked in massage therapy and clinical coordination over the last 20 years.

I am a qualified Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist (ACMT), Cranio Sacral Therapy, Advanced Myofascial Therapy, and Hot Stones Therapist – passionate about treating clients using combinations of tried and tested techniques to bring about relief from chronic pain. I see the therapies I offer as valuable means to assist clients learning how to manage ongoing pain and stress conditions. Working collaboratively and carefully, listening to clients while being focussed on positive outcomes.

As a professional therapist I am passionate about maintaining continual professional development carefully choosing robust outcome based study and training, staying up to date with the latest therapeutic techniques in professional bodywork, participating with professional community of therapists and undertaking regular supervision.

Types of massage therapy on offer:

Hot Stones massage – probably the ultimate in luxurious therapy you can undertake in the comfort of your own home. By the enhanced therapeutic effect of heat, expect to feel discomfort and pain melt away. Hot stones are especially useful for stress related conditions, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and chronic fatigue.

Cranio-Sacral therapy – Using the most delicate touch to help restore and rebalance the cranio-sacral rhythm and release stress and anxiety. I often use cranio sacral techniques at the beginning and end of a treatment to enable the body to be gently open up to and assist in treatment preparation, and also to safely conclude treatments.

Advanced Myofascial Release (MFR) – Fascia surrounds and connects all the structures in the body and when in optimal condition fascia glides between tissues – but because of stress, poor body mechanics, injury and the natural ageing process – fascia can lose some of it’s ability to glide between tissues, and instead become stuck, shortened, painful and restricted. In my experience I have found that MFR safely offers a number of techniques that can be beneficial to assist clients with injuries, chronic pain, trauma and chronic fatigue to initiate their healing response.

Advanced Clinical Massage – Using leading edge techniques from MFR, trigger point release and stretching to treat clients with injury and pain by developing outcome based treatment plans based on positive outcomes such as assisting the client to increase functionality of joints and surrounding tissues, increasing range of movement, and decrease levels of discomfort.

I also offer integrated treatments – using the most beneficial combination of my skills and training.

If you wish to use massage assist in management of an ongoing or longstanding condition where you are working with a healthcare professional, I am happy to collaborate and work alongside any medical professional involved in your care to ensure treatments are tailored in an appropriate way for your condition.

Currently I am able to offer appointments in the comfort of your home, and offering evening appointments for clients.

Apologies to all prospective male clients but as I am a ‘lone worker’ visiting peoples homes, for personal safety reasons new male clients must be referred by known sources.

Cancellations need to be made within a 24 hour period of treatment – otherwise will need to charge for the missed treatment.

Look forwards to hearing from you and helping with any questions you may have.
Best Wishes, James
