‘Life takes it out of you : Massage puts it back!’ – Claire Maxwell-Hudson

My bodywork is holistic and intuitive. Massage therapy is my main tool alongside a range of techniques and modalities:

| Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy
| Trigger Point Therapy
| Myofascial Positional Release
| Fascial Stretching
| Energy-based work drawn from Acupressure, Thai Massage & Shiatsu
| Self-Care & Rehab Exercises

Myotherapy is used to provide relaxation and relief from stress & tension, and also helps reduce muscular-skeletal pain, injury & dysfunction.

‘Myo’ is Greek for Muscle. Therapy is directed at the Fascia. Fascia is a thick soft tissue that surrounds all your muscles and bones. When healthy it is relaxed & soft and has the ability to move & stretch without restriction, helping to maintain good posture and flexibility. This connective tissue runs all the way from your head to your toes, so dysfunction, tension or damage in one area can affect other distinct areas of the body.

Facilitating the body’s own natural healing process, I treat chronic pain including back and neck pain, frozen shoulder, RSI, headaches, migraine, whiplash, sports injuries, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue, and pain from stress-related conditions. As well as reducing pain & discomfort, I seek to improve, restore and maintain muscular strength, range of movement, and flexibility.

I also work with women experiencing pregnancy, miscarriage or abortion.

As well as being a fully trained and experienced massage therapist, I have worked in the charity and violence-against-women-and-girls field (VAWG) for many years.
I have a background in Psychology and am counselling skills certified. As a result of this experience and interest in the mind-body connection, I work in an empathic and trauma-informed way.
