The Active Massage Therapists

This month we are going to talk about (and get a bit physical) the ‘active massage therapist’. To be a successful therapist, it massively helps if you are healthy both inside & out, so our offering to you is a mind-body experience. Featuring Massage muscle conditioning with Teresa & and a can of beans! Plus a few of our favourites: Meditation, Yoga, and some Myofascial Self-care techniques. Get prepared for a dynamic & interactive session to wake you up on a Wednesday morning.

11.15 – 12.00 Fascial Therapy Institute Australia’s Director: Steven Goldstein

The Diaphragm

The ‘Diaphragm’ is an under-treated core structure. Let’s look at some distinctive characteristics of the diaphragm. It is asymmetric, the right side inflates the left and vice versa. It is part of complex poly-articular chains connecting and interfacing the entire body. From a myofascial perspective, it is a core structure of the Deep Front Line.
Let’s discover the Diaphragm!

12.00 – 12.45 Upledger UK’s Director: Caroline Barrow

The paradigm of touch based healthcare

How can our healthcare paradigm develop to facilitate greater healing and response-ability for ourselves and our clients? Using many of the elements we teach in CranioSacral Therapy, this talk will consider what is useful for any touch-based therapists interested in working ever more deeply with paradigms that empower our clients, what this even means and why it might be important.
