The ACMT is the first year (modules 1 and 2) of the BTEC level 6 Professional Diploma in advanced clinical and sports massage, and assessment/portfolio work is verified by Pearson (Edexcel) as being at level 6.
If you want to benchmark the ACMT course against other sports massage courses, then it lies somewhere between a level 4 and 5 sports massage in terms of content/hours and meets requirements for joining SMA.
Remember our overarching goal at JING was to provide a degree-level course that puts our students on a par on an international stage – North America and Canada who offer degree-level qualifications which is why we have chosen not to run an externally accredited level 4 or 5.
The ACMT teaches clinical massage, treatment of chronic pain, and The Jing Method™ therefore although we cover requirements for level 4 plus for sports massage, we also teach approaches and methods unique to the ACMT i.e. Eastern approaches, and clinical practice for chronic pain. You know we like to be different!!
