The Massage In Schools Programme
Studies and observations have shown the benefits of the massage programme to be:
Children become calmer and have improved concentration, Children have more confidence and increased self-esteem, It teaches children to respect others and leads to social inclusion, There is a reduction in bullying and aggression, Emotional health improves, It helps children to recognise ‘good’ and ‘bad’ touch, Children show improved motor skills, It encourages visual and kinaesthetic learning.

Recent research findings indicate the programme has a positive effect on children’s relationships both in the classroom and in the playground: increasing social networks, creating a sense of calm and reducing aggressive behaviours.
Teachers have reported a 27% improvement change in ‘Learning Readiness’ and a 36% increase in ‘Self Esteem’.
Not only do the children experience these benefits . . . . so do the teachers!

This workshop Rachel Fairweather will look at how simple principles of myofascial technique can be adapted for the needs of movement teachers including yoga and Pilates teachers. Experienced fascial practiioner and Jing director will present the theory of fascial anatomy and the major ways of addressing structural imbalances in the fascial web. We will then explore simple hands on techniques that can be used over clothes to assist hands on cueing and interventions in movement classes and give a greater tool box for those interested in the treatment of pain and restoring balance in the body.

This workshop offers you a fascinating insight in to Upledger Craniosacral therapy and the influence of the Craniosacral system.
